How to get to Tulum?
[last updated February 2024]
Smartphones have become an integral part of our lives, and it’s no surprise why. It’s a convenient way to stay connected with family, friends, and colleagues, to access information, and to entertain ourselves. But there is also another advantage to our smartphones that we might not always consider: learning! Here are five learning apps for adults that are easy to use and yet mind-blowing.

Why using learning apps as adults?
With the right apps and tools, we can use our phones to boost our skills and knowledge. You can easily learn a language, take online classes, read or listen to books and articles, and watch educational videos. You can keep track of your goals and accomplishments, keep up with the latest industry trends, and deepen your understanding of a subject. All of these activities ultimately help us to:
- optimise our learning potential and stimulate our brain for neuroplasticity,
- become more well-rounded and knowledgeable individuals, and
- pursue our passions and develop meaningful skills.
In addition to the educational opportunities, our phones also give us the ability to stay organized. We can create to-do lists, track our progress, set reminders, save important notes, and organise team work (check out my five favourite apps for digital organisation here).
Ultimately, smartphones offer us a powerful tool to help us grow and develop our skills and knowledge. This promotes a growth mindset, the approach to life that helps people develop their abilities and talent. With the right learning apps, we can use our phones to boost our potential instead of passively consuming content. This means using technology to support your goals, instead of letting technology use you to support corporate goals.

I have surpassed physical trauma after a serious accident left me in a wheelchair for several months and psychological trauma growing up in a violent household. I learned to embrace challenges and keep a positive mindset rooted in life-long learning. There’s always a valuable lesson to take.
