Personal Coaching — Seeking Guidance in a Moving World
Goals
Before delving into the tools and advice that will help you shift your mindset for best version of yourself, it is crucial to define clear goals. I use a step-by-step method involving creative brainstorming, vision boards, neuroplasticity, and tools adapted to your needs.
Operation
Using my knowledge and experience from academia, I develop custom-made models and frameworks to operationalise your goals into concrete projects and tasks. This allows to deconstruct big objectives into manageable action which you can take daily.
Systems
Rather than establishing a never-ending to-do list, my approach is centred on the creation of systems which will hold you accountable and set you on a path to success. You can choose the style and frequency of those reminders to fit the life you seek to achieve.
Purpose
I fundamentally believe in the necessity to nourish soul and heart alongside learning and growing. I accompany you in taking decisions and action which resonate with your values and sense of purpose, without putting pressure on yourself or your environment.

It was absolutely life-changing working with Sophie. She is an amazing person and she gave me the strength to know that I am deserving of my dreams and goals. Sophie really took the time to listen to my doubts and helped transforming them into confidence.
She helped me focus on my strengths and gain clarity on my goals. Together we worked on establishing my goals and step by step she taught me how to achieve them. I am happy to say that with her help I was able to check off many of my goals within only a few sessions. Really grateful for this whole experience!

How to book my coaching services?
Every journey is unique. I tailor my method and approach based on the individual needs and wishes of my clients, based on an assessment of fit. Given my limited availability, I only work with a few selected clients each week.
- Book a free consultation: If you want to work together, please first book a free consultation so that we can discuss your objectives.
- Book your service: After on our conversation, I will provide payment links to book any of the services listed above that fit your needs. Depending on your goals, I will recommend different packages. You can always book session by session, if you prefer. I use Stripe as a payment processing platform.
- Choose a date: Once the booking is made and paid for, I will propose dates and times to meet. I need at least two working days of preparation time between the booking and the coaching session. Most of the time, we speak via videocalls. I use Google Meet and provide the link for our calls once the first booking is made. Whenever possible, I meet my clients in person.
Cancellation Policy:
- Full refund for cancellations made at least 48 hours before a scheduled session. No refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance.
- No refunds for completed sessions or unused pre-paid packages.
- We reserve the right to refuse refunds in cases of policy abuse or fraud.

With Sophie’s guidance, I was able to unlock new opportunities in my career that I never thought were possible.
I am particularly grateful for Sophie’s help in improving my LinkedIn profile and CV. I found my new job through LinkedIn, and I believe that without Sophie’s expertise, I would not have been offered such a competitive salary. It felt like they had already chosen me before the interviews, and I believe that’s largely due to how I presented myself on LinkedIn and my CV.
Sophie’s belief in me and her unwavering support have given me the confidence to pursue my dreams and professional goals!

Frequent Questions
What is personal coaching and how is it different from therapy?
Personal coaching is a forward-focused, action-oriented process. Where therapy typically explores the past to understand and heal, coaching starts from where you are now and works toward where you want to be. We focus on goals, decisions, habits, and the mental patterns that support or block your progress. It is structured, practical, and results-driven, not a space for diagnosis or treatment.
Who is personal coaching for?
Coaching works best for people who are already functional and capable but feel stuck, unclear, or underperforming relative to their own standards. My clients are typically ambitious, thoughtful individuals (academics, researchers, early-career professionals, and creative people) who want a rigorous thinking partner rather than generic motivation. If you know you are capable of more and want structured support to get there, coaching is likely a good fit.
What does a typical coaching engagement look like?
We begin with a scoping call to understand your situation, goals, and what kind of support would be most useful. From there, most engagements run as a series of six to twelve sessions, held every two weeks or monthly. Each session is focused on a specific challenge or goal, with accountability check-ins between. The format is always adapted to what you actually need.
What kinds of issues do people bring to coaching?
The most common themes are career transitions and direction, confidence and decision-making under pressure, managing competing priorities, launching a personal project, and navigating ambitious goals without burning out. Many clients come with a specific challenge in mind; others arrive knowing something needs to change but not yet sure what. Both starting points work!
How do I know if we are a good fit?
The scoping call is designed to answer that. I work with a small number of clients at a time, which means I am selective, because the work is only worth doing if there is genuine alignment on goals, working style, and expectations. If it is not the right fit, I will tell you honestly and where possible suggest alternatives.
What is mindset growth and why does it matter?
Mindset growth is the process of deliberately expanding the beliefs, habits, and mental frameworks that shape how you respond to challenges, setbacks, and opportunities. The concept draws on decades of research in psychology and behavioural science, most notably Carol Dweck’s work on fixed versus growth mindsets, which shows that how we think about our own abilities directly influences what we achieve.
In practical terms, mindset growth means learning to reframe obstacles as information rather than failure, building tolerance for uncertainty, and developing the self-awareness to recognise when your own thinking is the limiting factor. It is not relentless positivity or ignoring difficulty, it is responding to difficulty more effectively.
In my coaching practice, mindset work is embedded in everything. Whether you are navigating a career transition, an ambitious goal, or a confidence block, the mental dimension is always part of the equation. Sustainable progress requires both the right strategy and the inner capacity to execute it.
What kind of problems can mindset growth resolve?
Mindset growth is a process of helping individuals identify and change negative patterns of thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours to reach their full potential. As such, mindset growth can help with many personal and professional issues, such as:
- Overcoming limiting beliefs and self-doubt: Many of us have internalized negative thoughts about ourselves that hold us back from reaching our full potential. Mindset coaching particularly helps you identify and challenge these limiting beliefs, increasing confidence and motivation.
- Achieving goals: Whether it’s personal or professional, setting and achieving goals can be a daunting task. Mindset coaching provides the necessary support and guidance to help you stay on track and overcome obstacles that may prevent you from reaching your goals.
- Managing stress and anxiety: The fast-paced nature of modern life can take a toll on our mental health, resulting in increased stress and anxiety. With mindset coaching, you learn effective strategies for managing these feelings, such as mindfulness and relaxation techniques.
- Improving relationships: Our relationships with others can have a significant impact on our overall well-being. Mindset coaching can help you identify and change negative patterns of communication and behaviour that may be damaging your relationships.
- Finding purpose and fulfillment: Many of us struggle to find a sense of purpose and fulfillment in our lives. With the right tools, you can explore your values and passions, leading to a greater sense of meaning and satisfaction in your daily life.
In sum, mindset growth in the context of personal coaching can provide individuals with the tools and support they need to overcome a range of personal and professional challenges. It helps increase well-being and fulfilment in their lives, e.g. getting through a professional rut or carrying out a personal project. My coaching philosophy ensures follow-up on objectives and adaptation, which accompanies clients throughout the learning process we establish together.

What are the most common misconceptions about personal coaching?
The biggest misconception is that coaching is only for people who are struggling. In reality, the clients who get the most out of coaching are often already high-performing: they come not because something is broken but because they want to operate at a higher level. Coaching is a tool for optimisation as much as recovery.
A second misconception is that coaching means being told what to do. Good coaching is the opposite, a structured process that helps you think more clearly so you can make better decisions yourself.
Third, many people confuse coaching with mentoring. A mentor shares their own experience and advises based on what worked for them. A coach helps you develop your own clarity and capabilities, regardless of whether they have walked the same path.
Finally, some assume results take a long time to materialise. While deeper personal shifts do take time, most clients notice meaningful changes in perspective and behaviour within the first few sessions, particularly around decision-making, focus, and confidence.
The 5 elements of successful personal coaching
For personal coaching to be successful, these five elements are especially important:
- Clear objectives: The first component of successful mindset coaching is setting clear and specific objectives. This helps the coach and the individual to stay focused and on track throughout the coaching process.
Open Communication: Open communication is crucial for successful mindset coaching. It helps the coach to understand the individual’s perspective, and enables the individual to express their thoughts and feelings freely.
Active listening: Active listening is an essential component of successful mindset coaching. It allows the coach to understand the individual’s thoughts and feelings, and respond in a way that is most helpful.
Positive reinforcement: Positive reinforcement is a key component of successful mindset coaching. It helps the individual to stay motivated and focused on the goal, by providing them with the necessary support and encouragement.
Flexibility: Lastly, flexibility is a key component of successful mindset coaching. It means being open to new ideas and approaches, and tailoring the coaching process to meet the individual’s unique needs and circumstances.
Altogether, these qualities are essential in helping individuals overcome personal and professional challenges, and achieve their goals. They are the cornerstone of my coaching philosophy!
